Heat Treat

Horsburgh & Scott offers complete captive and commercial heat treating services out of a 50,000 sq ft facility. Our capabilities include stress relieving, through hardening, gas carburizing and induction hardening. We have in-house metallurgical expertise to monitor the chemistry and properties of the materials.

Carburizing and Hardening
Newly installed Aichelin carburizing and hardening line engineered for high-volume applications and wind turbine heat treatment specifications: 

• 2.0m diameter x 2.5m depth
• 2.5m diameter x 2.0m depth

Our conventional gas carburizing and hardening equipment is among the most advanced in the world, with the following capabilities:

• 2.0m diameter x 4.5m deep
• 1.5m diameter x 4.5m deep
• 1.2m diameter x 1.5m deep

Induction Hardening
Newly installed Saet CNC induction hardening machine engineered for wind turbine heat treatment specifications:

• 210 in. diameter, 30 in. face width, up to 40,000 pounds.
