HOW TO SEND IN A GEAR DRIVE

Thank you for your interest in the Horsburgh and Scott Company for the inspection and re-conditioning of your gear drive.

IMPORTANT! Please follow these instructions when shipping items for evaluation/ rebuild:

1. Fill out the INFORMATION FORM. You can either fill it out online or fax it to 216-865-0551

2. DRAIN OIL: Federal regulations require unit to be shipped without oil. Please drain the unit prior to shipping as there will be an oil disposal charge applied to any unit arriving with oil.

3. TAG PARTS: (Please tag unit and all loose parts with the following information):
    * Company Name and Address
    * Contact Person, Phone Number an Fax Number
    * Reference your Purchase Order Number

4. SHIP TO: THE HORSBURGH & SCOTT COMPANY

  • Receiving is Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Please Call if other special receiving instructions are to be arranged
  • Please ship the unit Freight Prepaid

When the unit arrives at Horsburgh and Scott for inspection, the following services will be performed :

  • Inventory and photographs will be taken of unit and loose parts as received
  • All items will be cleaned and prepared for inspection
  • Unit will be dis-assembled as far as practical for the evaluation of components
  • parts will be evaluated and documented
  • A flat rate inspection fee will be applied at this time.   In the event that the gearbox is rebuilt by Horsburgh & Scott this fee will be waived.  (Typical fee is $500, $1000, or $1500)

NOTE : The above scope of work requires a purchase order.

Our quotation to recondition the unit will be supplied within 2 (two) weeks after receipt of unit, unless breakdown service is required.
