Opportunity

This unique position requires a hybrid of sales and engineering skills and will be responsible for the development of new customers and sales growth opportunities for our products in the pump industry.  This individual will be responsible for introducing our custom products to very technically savvy customers and managing the accounts for longer term business growth.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·        Marketing our innovative designs and engineering solutions to meet and exceed both customer’s expectations and company’s sales growth objectives.

·        Working through design, engineering and technical issues with customers to develop the best solution for the situation; assist with drive and component selection, including gears, bearings, seals, materials, testing and manufacturing processes.

·        Securing new, profitable business by preparing cost estimates and written commercial and technical proposals.

·        Managing new and existing key accounts and coordinating efforts with both inside and outside sales as well as direct customer contact.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

·        Bachelors or Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering

·        Minimum of 7 years experience in the power transmission field, with emphasis on pumps, pumping systems and the industries they serve.  Activities must include product design and development, as well as exposure to sales and marketing aspects of those products.  Experience with high-speed components and analysis of fluid and rotor dynamics a plus.

·        Strong analytical, problem solving and computer skills to include working knowledge with Microsoft Office and Solid Works 3-D CAD software.

·        Working knowledge and understanding with API, AGMA, ANSI and other industry relevant standards.

·        Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to work independently and within a team environment to complete assignments.

·        Strong planning and organization skills, ability to multi-task, focus on accomplishing long term goals and producing deliverables to satisfy business objectives.

·        Willingness to travel as required, to both customer and user offices and installed job sites.

·        Self-motivated with a strong business acumen.

Position Summary The VP of Manufacturing reports to the President and is responsible for the direction, planning and execution of the company’s manufacturing operations at two Cleveland, Ohio plant locations.
